Santa Clara City Scrapbook Indexes

Chamber of Commerce Scrapbooks
Thanks to funding from the Santa Clara Historic Home Tour and the Foundation & Friends of the Santa Clara City Library, a collection of eighteen Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce Scrapbooks in the Library’s collection covering the years 1937-1961 were microfilmed and digitized in 2010. These scrapbooks document the growth of the small rural town of Santa Clara with under 6,500 people in 1937 to one with a population ten times that size by 1961. These scrapbooks include articles on City government, annexation wars with neighboring cities, schools, businesses, shopping centers, and the conversion of ranch land to subdivisions.
