Renewing materials online

In order to renew your materials, you'll need to be logged into your record. There you will see a list of the items you currently have checked out. Click on the boxes next to the items you want to renew and then click the "Renew Selected" button. (You can also click the "Renew All" button if you'd like to renew everything on your card.

Successfully renewed items will show a message next to them saying "Renewed- now due..." Items that were not renewed will have an error message next to them.

It's important to double check that all the items you wanted to renew were properly renewed. A quick way to make sure is to click the button that says "Sort by Due Date" above your check out list. This will bring the items due soonest to the top.

Paying fines online

After logging into your account, click on the link to view your fines (it will show the dollar amount you owe) and then click on "Pay Online." If you're paying less than the total amount, click "clear all" and select the fines you want to currently pay. Since the library cannot issue refunds, please be careful with this step. 

Fill in the blank items on the form with your billing and credit card information (Visa and MasterCard only) and press submit. It will ask you to make sure all the information is correct. If so, press submit again to complete the payment. A receipt will automatically be sent to the e-mail address you've supplied, but you can choose to print out a paper version as well (if this is done in the library, the normal library printing fees will apply).

If you have any trouble, check to make sure that you are using a Visa or MasterCard and that all your information is entered properly (the "security code" is a three digit number on the back of your credit card).

Changing your personal information

You can change your phone number and e-mail address by logging into your account. Beneath your name, click the button that says "Modify Personal Info." A new window will pop up showing your current information. Change what needs to be changed and click "Submit".

If you need to change your address, you can do so by coming into the library or by calling us to update it.

Freezing holds

Freezing a hold allows you to temporarily stop a request from becoming available for you. This is helpful if you think a hold might come in while you are out of town or have too many other books to read at the moment. Once you are ready for the item, you can reactivate the hold. This is only for items you are still in line for. If it is currently available on the hold shelf, you cannot freeze it.

To do so, log into your account and click on your holds. To the right of each item in the list is the freeze button. Click on whichever items you want to freeze and then click the "Update List" button to save your changes. If it worked, you'll see icicles across the items you have frozen. To unfreeze an item, just follow the same steps and the icicles will disappear and the hold will be active again.

When you are unfreezing a hold, it's a good idea to check the catalog and make sure the item isn't showing to be available. If it is, give us a call and we can help you get it.

Reading history

"My Reading History" is an option that you can turn on or off that creates a list of all the items you have checked out. This is a good feature if you've ever had one of those "What was the name of that one book..." type moments.

By default, it is not activated until you choose to do so. When you have logged into your record, click the "My Reading History" below your name and then click "Opt In." From this point on, a list will be created for all the items you check out (it will not have any items you have checked out previous to this time). This list is only for you. Staff does not have access to it.

If you decide you don't want to use My Reading History anymore, click on the "Opt Out" button and the list will be deleted.

My Record Feeds

The "My Record Feeds" option provides an RSS feed that informs you of upcoming due dates and available holds.   

Due to the variety of feed readers people use, it's hard to give exact directions on how to subscribe to the feed, but for the most part it goes like this:

  • click on the "My Record Feeds" link in your account.
  • Copy the address and follow the directions of your reader on how to add this feed.
