How
it Works
You will need
to install free
software (on non-Library devices only), available from the Califa
Digital Download Center.
Check out items
by choosing "Santa Clara City Library" from the drop-down
list and entering your 14- digit Santa
Clara City Library card number.
Up to 8 titles
at a time may be checked out from your own computer or from most
library computers. However, digital
books may not be downloaded to library computers.
The loan period
for most digital books is 3 weeks.
You may place
up to 10 titles on hold at a given time.
Once the loan
period has expired, the title is "returned" automatically
to the Library. Although the digital book
file will remain on your machine, it no longer will be readable.
You then may delete
the file manually from your machine
if you choose.
Only Adobe®
eBooks may be returned prior to the due date.
Help
A detailed explanation
of the digital book service, including FAQs, a "quick start
guide," software comparison, device compatability, borrowing
policies and procedures, troubleshooting, and much more is available
from Califa's Digital
Book Help.
Please use the
above resource FIRST if you have any questions
or encounter problems with the digital book service. You also
may try these vendor support pages for specific product information:

OverDrive's Support.
If
you need additional non-technical assistance, you may email librarians@ci.santa-clara.ca.us.
The key to getting a fast and accurate response is to provide as
much detail as possible about your question. This may include the
operating system, browser version, and digital book software you
are using; your Santa Clara City Library card number; the format
and title of the problem book; the exact text of any error message;
etc. |
