| The library will notify you when your requested items are ready for pick-up. You can choose notification by e-mail just have your e-mail address added to your library record. You must use the same library card to request and check out your requested item. | |||

From this page(or the home page), click on Request an Item. You will arrive at a screen entitled: Search our Catalog. If you request materials often, bookmark this page on your computer. | ||

Search for the bibliographic record (the one with the author, title, location, and check-out status) of the item you want. Be sure that the record you've found is for the format you want (book, large-print book, etc.). | ||

If there is a due date listed under Status for every copy of the item you want, or it has a status of on order or in process, you are ready to request. If any of the copies of your item have a status of Check Shelves, please call Central Library's Adult Services (408 615-2900) or Youth Services (408 615-2916) for help locating it. | ||

Click on the Request button at the top or bottom of the page . | ||

Type in your name as it appears in your library record. | ||
|

Type in your complete library card barcode number. | ||
|

Click on the Choose a Pickup Location bar and highlight your desired pickup location. | ||
|

You should see a message that reads Your request for (title/author) was successful. If this message does not appear, please contact a librarian at 408 615-2900 for help. | ||
